TEACHER

The video shows a story of a young student named Edwin who struggles to make both ends meet. Working in the market during the night and going to school during the day sometimes takes its toll in him. He often sleeps during class that’s his grades dropped. When asked by his good teacher he says “I’m tired, very tired”. Now this good teacher vowed to help Edwin rise up above his situation and so every after class, she gave him free tutorials for him to cope up. She acts like a good parent to him offering him meals, advice and encouragement.

One day Edwin got into trouble and found himself in jail. From then on, he never showed up for school even after he was released from his short detention. He went back to work in the market. But everyday he received texts from his teacher encouraging him to go back and he constantly ignores it. Until one day the teacher showed up and looked at him straight into his eyes, “Don’t you have bigger dreams, Edwin?”

That was a turning point. Now, Edwin showed up in the same school walking through the aisles with memories of his school days. He went looking for his good teacher and said, “Mrs. Chong, it’s time for dinner.” Edwin is now successful and looked back with gratitude to the great teacher who made a difference in his life.

Hospital Window

This is a poignant short clip about two strangers sharing one hospital room. One of them is an old man, whose bed is near the window and one younger man on the other side with bandage on both eyes, probably not getting a chance to see again. The man beside the window is due for an operation in the next few days. While waiting for that day to come, he spends the day chit chatting with his roommate while describing what he sees out from the window.

One day he describes a scenario from out of the window that of a man and a woman, apparently lovers who are having a difficult moment. According to the old man, the young man is trying to win the heart of his girl and gives her flowers but the girl throws them away. The old man from the hospital room describes it as vividly as possible that his roommate can feel the entire scenario like he was actually seeing it! Both men were enjoying the moment with one describing the view from outside the window and the other one imagining it.

One day, the old man describes a very romantic scenario. This time, he said the lovers are both in the park as he sees from his window and the young man bends on his knees giving a ring to the woman and eventually they kissed. It was a very romantic scenario. The man on the other side of the hospital room could actually feel the love from the scenario as described by his roommate. He was very grateful to his roommate for making it possible for him to “see” without his eyes. They both enjoyed the moment.

Then it was time for the old man’s operation. “If it’s time, it’s time”, he said and bid goodbye to his roommate. It was their last encounter. The old man did not make it.

Saddened by the news, the younger man tried to lift his spirits and requested the nurse to describe the park from outside the window, just like what the old man used to do. The nurse wondered and told him that there was nothing outside but a blank brick wall. After a moment of astonishment, the young man, still with bandage on both his eyes let out a soft quick but hearty laugh. His roommate did all he could do to make him feel better on during his hospital stay, even if he himself is going through something difficult himself.  A genuine act of selfless kindness to others.

MY BEAUTIFUL WOMAN

This is a true story of a young woman, perhaps a teen, named Jane, who has unexpectedly encountered a major opportunity to experience love in the most unconditional way. It was a choice of a big responsibility to be a young mother to a cute baby named June.

Jane is a senior student who was judged by the people around her to have a child from a sugar daddy when she was still 18. Every day she goes to school and rushes home to fetch June from school who has now grown to become a cheeky loving little girl. She faces each day with a typical hardship of a mother raising a young child plus the extra ridicule and rumors around purposely talking ill about her. Little did they know that it was a sacrifice that only a real love could do. She’d rather have them talk ill about her than let them know the truth.

The day that she found baby June from the trash, inside a bag was a major turning point for her teenager life into becoming more than a real mother and experience real unconditional love. The story depicts the cruelty of society yet it also shows that real love and hope still blossoms in the heart of a few who are willing to sacrifice themselves for the sake of love. Every woman is beautiful in the eyes of the people who love them most because no amount of negative things can destroy true unconditional love.
